The Grandson Route leads from Yverdon, along the shores of the Neuenburg lake, past the Grandson castle and on to St-Aubin. The Yverdon-les-Bain region was already a popular spot known for the healing powers of its waters as far back as the stone and Roman age. (PostBus stop Yverdon, gare). Here you also discover the Swiss museum of fashion, Maison d’Ailleurs (science-fiction museum), museum of history and the Pestalozzi documentation and research centre. The promise of wellness for your body and soul is provided for with the region’s thermal baths –and in the Grande Cariçaie nature reserve you find a feast for your eyes with around 100 plant and 10‘000 animal species. Discover the well-preserved 13th century Grandson Castle on the Neuenburg lake shores (PostBus stop Grandson, place du Château) –the castle of course earned its fame through the battle between the confederates and Herzog Karl den Kühnen from Burgundy, Thanks to special events, even little ones get their fill of enjoyment here. Additional things to see are the impressive collection of weapons, along with the Old-timer Museum, where the vehicles once belonging to Winston Churchill and Greta Garbo are exhibited.
