Chur

Chur is the starting point for our exciting Julier Route Express. The capital of the Graubünden is Switzerland’s oldest city. Its charming and traffic-free old town invites you to relax and take a leisurely walking tour.

Chur–Lenzerheide

The route leads via Churwalden to Valbella, with a view of the Lenzerheide plateau. Lenzerheide is a popular resort both in summer and winter and offers a wide range of sporting and leisure activities all year round. The Heidsee, an idyllic upland lake, is ideal for a bracing swim on a hot summer’s day.

Lenzerheide–Savognin

The journey over the pass continues through the sunny plateau of Lenz, offering spectacular views of the Albula Valley to Oberhalbstein. After passing the romantic town of Tiefencastel, you arrive in Savognin, a popular ski resort and principal village of the Oberhalbstein district.

Savognin–Julier Pass-St Moritz

After climbing through a number of agricultural hamlets and the village of Bivio, the road finally reaches the Julier Pass (2,284m), which divides the northern part of the Graubünden from the Engadine and the adjoining Italianspeaking valleys of Bregaglia and Poschiavo. Descending into the Upper Engadine at Silvaplana, you will be struck by the unique beauty of this valley and its lakes. Shortly afterwards you arrive in the cosmopolitan resort of St. Moritz with its array of first-class hotels and exclusive shops.
