A promotional day will be held on 9 May 2012 in Brig-Gils. Employees of PubliBike and PostBus will be on hand with information about the PubliBike services. PubliBike can be tested free of charge in Brig until the end of May. Using PubliBike is easy. Bicycle rental passes are available from PostBus outside the Brig railway station and at the SBB ticket counters against deposit of an official ID. If you wish to take a break on the way, you can park the bicycle and secure it with the frame lock. To return the bicycle, simply push it back into its slot. An app is also available to indicate whether a bicycle or an e-bike is available at the station.

Ideally complementing current mobility services

In addition to Brig, PubliBike stations are in operation at this time in Solothurn, Basel, Lucerne, Winterthur, Frauenfeld, and Kreuzlingen. The system is expected to be established uniformly throughout the country. The shared use of bicycles and e-bikes by the public on shorter distances ideally complements the private and public means of transportation in an urban environment. Bike sharing relieves traffic congestion in cities and turns travel by public transportation into an individual experience.
