Spiez–Krattigen–Aeschi b. Spiez–Aeschiried (Route 61)
From Aeschiried you walk through woods and fields. A high - in the literal sense! - along the Aeschiried Panorama Trail is of course the Leissigen suspension bridge over the Spissibach stream.
After a twenty-minute ride with Postbus from the Bahnhof Spiez station, you then reach the Aeschiried Schulhaus bus stop, which is your departure point for the panorama-rich round hike.
You traverse a short stretch of woodland on the path leading over Hellboden, at the same time passing a most popular picnic and grill spot.
Highlight on the hike, namely the suspension bridge over the Spissibach stream, is reached along a route through woods and fields boasting an impressive mountain panorama. And at 60 meters above the ground you’re able to enjoy an airy and hopefully vertigo-free experience on crossing the140-meter-long Leissigen suspension bridge.
Shortly afterwards you reach the Meielisalp, where you can stop for a pause in the restaurant before continuing your now downhill journey to Leissigen.
Hiking time: Two hours & twenty-five minutes.
