Apples as far as the eye can see

The attractive Altnauer Apfelweg path by Lake Constance is between 2 and 7 kilometres long. And this scenic path leading through flourishing orchards can be negotiated on foot, by bike or even by horse and carriage – with entertaining stop points and places to take a break dotted along the way inviting you to stop, enjoy and ponder.

The Altnauer Apfelweg - after which a flourishing orchard trail, just perfect for families and accompanied by beautiful views over Lake Constance, is yours to enjoy. An attractive path that can be negotiated on foot, by bike or even with horse and carriage that leads through the Altnau village  - and along which there’s plenty of interesting things to learn about apples. Entertaining stop points and places to take a break are also dotted along the way, and with the three Fredi, Lisi and Emma mascots there’s little or no time to get bored!

Attractions and information

  • Altnauer Apfelweg: At just 500m from the Bahnhof Altnau station, 24 information boards, longest route stretch 7 km, approx. 3 hours on foot.
  • Shortened round tour: Climb aboard a Postbus vehicle after the 14th info-board (Route 923 from Altnau, Kirche)
  • The Apfelweg path can also be travelled by horse & carriage or by bike. Horse & carriage reservations through the Gemeinde Altnau
  • A family-friendly path throughout, also suitable for prams.
  • S-Bahn rail from Kreuzlingen or Romanshorn to Altnau. Return trip with PostBus Route 923 Monday – Saturday from Altnau Längiacker to Kreuzlingen
