The Wägitalersee lake is an ideal excursion point for hikers, bikers, fishing fans and outdoor lovers alike. Sit back and enjoy the panoramic views over the lake from the guesthouse terrace in Innerthal (open from 1 July 2020) - at best accompanied by a refreshing drink or tasty bite to eat.

The Wägitalersee lake is an ideal destination for all kinds of excursions and outdoor activities. A number of hiking trails lead through the surrounding mountain world from here. Those who prefer a more leisurely pace opt for a stroll round the lake – while the more ambitious mountain lovers are sure to set foot on one of several unique, scenic hiking trails.

  • A walk around the Wägitalersee (approx. three hours), also suitable for families with children (suitable for prams)
  • Hike via Vorderthal–Rötstock–Salbügel-Brüschtockbügel (1,488 m) with descent to Innerthal (approx. 3.5 hours), with magnificent views of the high Glarner and Urner Alps
