Campsut–Lago di Lei–Innerferrera
Avers Valley
The adventure begins with a trip through Val Ferrera to the Avers high-mountain valley. Old trading routes and steep switchback trails take you through the border area between Italy and Switzerland.
The PostBus ride from Andeer through Val Ferrera and to the Avers high-mountain valley is an adventure in itself. Starting in Campsut (PostBus station Avers, Campsut), the path climbs up through the woods to the east-side tunnel portal and continues on an old trading route to Furgga, where you are rewarded with gorgeous views of the Avers Valley and Valle di Lei.
A steep switchback trail takes you down to the lake and then across the massive dam of Lago di Lei. Via Alpe del Crot, Alpe Motta and through Val digl Uors the path continues to Innerferrera, sometimes crossing over into Italian territory. From Innerferrera (PostBus station Ferrera, Innerferrera) a PostBus will take you back to Andeer at the end of a marvellous day hike.
Hiking time: approx. 3 ½ hours
Level of difficulty: medium
