Discovering the underground mills
The water-powered mills and sawmill were built 400 years ago in limestone caves and natural and artificial tunnels. This unique site in Europe allows visitors to discover its little-known and rich regional history, including the remains of developments and installations dating from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries.
The new hydraulic room of the Col-des-Roches underground mills is the highlight of the permanent exhibition. There you can learn about and experience the principles at work in the cave through a series of illustrated texts and interactive stations.
An additional temporary exhibition relates the fabulous destiny of Oscar le Montagnon (running from 20 February to 27 November 2022).

Buy your ticket from the SBB Shop or SBB Mobile app. You can also buy a ticket from the driver, at all ticket terminals, PostBus sales offices and at the counter of your nearest railway station.

Reservations
For groups of ten people or more, reservation is required by 12 noon the day before at the latest by calling 0848 40 20 40 from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m.–12 noon and 1–5 p.m. For visits on Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays and public holidays, notice must be given by 12 noon on the preceding working day.
