An experience-rich hike from Villigen through the Mülital valley and vineyards to Böttstein waits to be discovered. Come along and enjoy a breath of fresh air along with beautiful views of the Mandach village and surrounding hillsides as far as the Black Forest.
With Postbus it’s easy to get to the starting point of this hike (PostBus stop Villigen, Vor Tor). On foot from here, direction Mandach, you then discover a former military facility before reaching the Rotberg - from where you also come across a perfect resting place with panoramic views and a great spot to stop for a bite to eat before moving on. The Böttenberg - Nassbergegg stretch now offers beautiful views over the River Aare and the power station set on the artificial Beznau Island. Taking around 2.5 hours, this hike covers a distance of around 8 kilometres and 750-meter climb in altitude. On the way to the Rotberg, you find one of around thirty panorama boards in the Zurzach district, with interesting information on flora and fauna, the history of the earth, the location itself and what you see around you.
