The Bannalp region, a jewel of Canton Nidwalden, located at an altitude of 1600-2800 m in Oberrickenbach - Wolfenschiessen in the Engelberg Valley, is a lovely mountain valley in the foothills of the Alps.
In winter the magic of snow makes Bannalp an attractive mountain region to explore on skis, snowboards or snowshoes. The snowy peaks are accessible by gondola and the Chrüzhütte mountain station is the starting point of magnificent tours in the gorgeous, snow-covered highlands. A marked snowshoe trail meanders through the peaceful winter wonderland. For your convenience, snowshoes are available for rent at the valley station.
