Gantrisch Panorama Trail
A magnificent hike through Alpine foothills
Discover the scenic Gantrisch region on an excursion. The Gantrisch Panorama Trail is a magnificent hike with many spectacular viewpoints. The well-maintained and signposted route leads from Zollhaus FR to Gurnigel Bad.
After the start at Zollhaus, you first have to overcome 500 metres to the Hällstedt viewpoint, where you can enjoy sweeping views from Kaiseregg and Märe all the way to the Gantrisch in the distance. Continue along the Alpine foothill ridge to Pfyffe, with spectacular views over the Mittelland region and the Jura. The route continues to Gägger, where the Gäggersteg awaits you. Via Süftenenegg and Schüpfenfluh, the Gantrisch gets closer and closer until you find yourself directly opposite it at Selibühl. Gurnigel Berghaus invites you to refuel for the last stage.
Boasting fantastic views, Obere Gurnigel is the last highlight on the Gantrisch Panorama Trail. After taking in the 360-degree panoramic views, continue on your way to Berggasthof Gurnigelbad, which offers food and accommodation options as well as postbus connections.
Along the way, panoramic displays, resting benches and picnic areas with three official fire pits invite you to relax and take a break. The well-maintained hiking route is marked with “Gantrisch-Panoramaweg” (Gantrisch Panorama Trail) signposts and can also be hiked in the opposite direction or in stages.
