The trail takes you through glacier-shaped landscapes and the mystical Kemptner Tobel, past abandoned factories, a waterfall and BBQ fire pits.
It takes around three hours to cover the nine kilometres from Hittnau to Kempten. But since there are a number of sites to see along the way, you should plan more time for the hike.
For example, you’ll pass through mystical Kemptner Tobel with its tumbling waterfall. If you can brave the chilly water, it’s an ideal place to cool down. The idyllic, secluded fire pits are also worth stopping at for a BBQ and picnic.
And children will be transfixed by the Rosinli mountain guesthouse, with its giant slide, swings and climbing tower. Adults will appreciate the panoramic views over the Zurich Oberland and the gastronomic delights of the restaurant.
