Hike from Iseltwald to the Giessbach Falls

Circular trail along Lake Brienz from Iseltwald to the Giessbach Falls

Hiking in the Bernese Oberland can be so exhilarating! PostBus takes you to Iseltwald, where you embark on a jaunt along Lake Brienz to the Giessbach Falls.

PostBus takes you from Interlaken to Iseltwald. From there, an easy hiking trail leads along Lake Brienz. This hike can be perfectly combined with a ride on the Giessbach funicular and a visit to the historic Grandhotel Giessbach. After a short ride on the oldest funicular, you arrive directly at the Grandhotel Giessbach, which dates back to 1874. Before you head back, a visit to the mighty waterfall, where a section of the trail passes behind the roaring water, is well worth it.

The highlights of this circular hike include Europe’s oldest funicular and the Giessbach Falls.
