Hike from Rosenlaui to Kaltenbrunnensäge
Legs of the hike: Rosenlaui – Glacier Gorge – Engelhorn Hut – Gorssrychenbach – Hobalm – Reutesperre – Kaltenbrunnen
Discover the scenic Rosenlauital in the Bernese Oberland. The route leads you along the gorge and the glacier downhill to Kaltenbrunnensäge.
After the PostBus ride to Hotel Rosenlaui, hike along the roaring Rosenlaui Gorge for the first meters of the ascent. Those who prefer a more leisurely start can opt for the pleasant hiking trail south of the gorge. At the end of the gorge, you reach the Rosenlaui Glacier. Continue uphill through forest, over rocks and across screes towards the Engelhörner.
The Engelhorn Hut invites you to take a breather and enjoy a snack. After the break, the descent begins. Via Grossrychenbach and Hobalm you reach the Reutesperre, where the Naturfreundehaus invites you to relax or spend the night. Otherwise, the “Kaltenbrunnen” PostBus stop is only 15 minutes away. The PostBus takes you back to your starting point in Meiringen.
