Take the Hoch-Ybrig Route to discover the Einsiedeln pilgrimage site, sparkling Lake Sihl and enjoy a wide variety of activities in the Hoch-Ybrig winter and summer sports region.
The Hoch-Ybrig Route starts in Einsiedeln and continues along Lake Sihl to the Hoch-Ybrig holiday region. With its baroque monastery and the “Black Madonna”, Einsiedeln attracts thousands of pilgrims every year (PostBus stop Einsiedeln, Railway Station). You could tour the monastery or visit a museum, the nativity diorama, or the panorama of the crucifixion of Christ.
In summer, you are sure to have lots of fun and fresh air on the hiking trails, on the golf course and the «Sternensauser». Some cross-country ski trails and ski lifts are available to ensure action in the winter time. Lake Sihl is a perfect place for a variety of water sports (PostBus stop Euthal, Höhport). The resort village of Unteriberg is the gateway to the Hoch-Ybrig hiking region (PostBus stop Unteriberg, Post Office). From there the post bus takes you either to the Weglosen base station (PostBus stop Hoch-Ybrig, Weglosen base station) or via Oberiberg to the Laucheren base station (PostBus stop Hoch-Ybrig, Laucheren base station). The region offers an extensive hiking trail system with outdoor grilling sites, playgrounds, and many other summer time activities, for example an open air concert festival in Hoch-Ybrig. Winter in Hoch-Ybrig also leaves nothing to be desired: numerous ski slopes, a fun park, a children’s playground, cross-country skiing and winter hiking trails, and rustic mountain restaurants are awaiting you.
Hoch-Ybrig and Einsiedeln are also great places to chill-out in during winter – where countless ski runs, fun park, children’s entertainment, cross-country tracks, 60-kilometers of hiking paths and charming mountain restaurants guarantee a cool, fun-packed visit!
