Lumbrein–Disentis, via Trun

Alpine Bike Route 1, SwissMobil

The valley of light makes the eyes of mountain bikers light up – see for yourself.

Alpine Bike Route 1 from Scuol to Aigle is already an icon for bikers. Make sure you ride along at least part of it. The Postbus will take you to Lumbrein, the starting point for the section to Disentis. From Lumbrein, the route winds gently up through the typical meadows in the seemingly untouched «Valley of light» to Alp Nova. The reward for your efforts is the easy descent to Obersaxen. The route continues via St. Martin to the Rhine (Vorderrhein). From Trun, ride through cool grassy wetland forest along the Vorderrhein with its gravel shores and small islets to Disentis.

Length: 43 km
