The four-thousand-metre mountains with their unmistakable silhouettes, glaciers glistening in the sun and sunburned villages of Valais: these are the highlights of the Valais Alpine Bike trail. No other route comes so close to the imposing four-thousand-metre mountains. From Chandolin, a dirt track leads to the Val de Zinal and on to Grimentz. The famous granaries, burned black by the sun, and the flame-red geraniums have become trademarks of this typical Valais village.
