An exceptional treasure, the Musée de l'Areuse has been recognized as a cantonal heritage site since 2 April, 1997. Come and discover this cultural heritage – open until the end of November.
The Musée de l'Areuse in Boudry is a good old-fashioned museum. Safe within its walls since 1883, this museum has been lucky enough to avoid the push towards modernization which has caused other regional museums in Switzerland to disappear, giving way to contemporary tastes resulting in the creation of large, specialized museums. The first-floor room in the Musée de l'Areuse has hardly changed since the end of the 19th century, making it a testament to the museography of the era when the first museums were created in Switzerland.
