The Napfbergland Border Trail
Located in the heart of Switzerland, yet still unknown to many
Hike on natural trails through pristine landscapes, impressive sunken lanes and deep forests, interrupted by idyllic glades and spectacular lookout points.
The trail along the traditional border between Central Switzerland and the Canton of Berne features a number of cultural characteristics and theme panels about nature, culture and sustainable economic activity. This border area has preserved much of its original character and offers an impressive range of leisure and adventure activities.
The 5th stage, considered by many as the trail’s high point, leads between Hohgant and Schrattenfluh to the moorlands of Sörenberg and up to the Brienzer Rothorn (2,350m above sea level). To shorten the stage, take the Marbachegg cable car. The stages can be rearranged to include accommodation options at Hotel Kemmeriboden-Bad and the Salwideli mountain inn or a visit to Sörenberg.
