The NaturparkBus takes travellers to the heart of the Naturapark Thal hiking paradise on Sundays and public holidays between 1 May and 1 November.
The Naturpark Thal nature reserve nestles amidst the mountain ranges of Solothurn Jura - between Weissenstein and waterfalls - in the catchment area of Basel, Bern and Zurich.
Experience the pristine nature of the area on a healthy hike. And discover the treasures such as striking faces of rock, deep canyons, beautiful pine forests and vast Jura pastures together with some great viewpoints. The Naturpark Thal is said to be absolute paradise for passionate game observers. Plant enthusiasts get their fair fill too, as seldom-seen flora and fauna are observed up close. Culinary enjoyment is also yours for the taking, with several attractive mountain-catering establishments underway.
Those who prefer a more leisurely pace do well to make use of the NaturparkBus transport service, which whisks you off to the sunny Jura heights on Sundays and public holidays. The NaturparkBus will take you from Balsthal along a spectacular route to Brunnersberg (1,118 m above sea level). From there, you can enjoy a leisurely walk up to Obere Tannmatt (1,122 m above sea level) before taking the NaturparkBus back to Balsthal.
Buy your ticket from the SBB Shop or SBB Mobile app. You can also buy a ticket from the driver, at all ticket terminals, PostBus sales offices and at the counter of your nearest railway station.
