PostBus-Walking-Trail

Walking through the beautiful Schenkenberg Valley

The PostBus walking trail takes you to the beautiful hiking area of the Schenkenberg Valley, connecting the villages of Oberflachs, Thalheim, Veltheim and Schinznach-Dorf.

The Schenkenberg Valley is known for its sunny slopes with well-tended vineyards, fine wines, Kasteln Castle and the Schenkenberg Ruins. It is an important recreation area in the Canton Aargau, offering another attractive sports and leisure destination with the PostBus-walking-trail.

Three different trails are available, all starting and ending in Schinznach-Dorf.

  • The blue trail (6.8 km) leads across Bözenegg back to Schinznach-Dorf and offers fantastic long-range views of the vineyards in Oberflachs.
  • The red trail (11 km) takes you along the vineyards of Oberflachs in the direction of Kasteln Castle via Thalheim and the Gisliflue back to Schinznach-Dorf.
  • The black trail (20 km) leads across Mösere-Buechmatt to its highest point at Würz, continues in the direction of Staffelegg, Rischeln, Gisliflue and back to the starting point. Now and then you will catch sight of the Schenkenberg Ruins along the way.
