Sörenberg−Kemmeriboden special ticket

Hike through the moorland of the UNESCO Entlebuch Biosphere

On arrival in Sörenberg after travelling through the Entlebuch region with BLS and PostBus, you find yourself in the heart of the UNESCO biosphere. A trip on the cable car takes you to Rossweid. The Rossweid experience restaurant and the Mooraculum, the largest moorland adventure park in the Alps, encourage visitors to linger a while. Young and old alike can learn lots of interesting facts about the moorland. This is the starting point for the wonderful hike to Kemmeriboden-Bad.

You can take the gondola lift up to Rossweid from the village of Sörenberg. You continue along a mostly flat path to Salwideli before heading slightly downhill to Kemmeriboden-Bad. Along the way, why not stop for a bite to eat at the Berggasthaus Salwideli.

The hike is well signposted, leading you through a beautiful and largely untouched mountain landscape. To the right, the legendary Schrattenfluh, and to the left, the Brienzer Rothorn mountain range; a mainstay of this trip. To top it all off, try the famous Kemmeriboden meringues at the Kemmeriboden Hotel.
