The Klöntal, a valley encircled by Alpine peaks, gullies and soaring rock faces, is rich in natural beauty and famous for magnificent reflections.
Natural beauty and reflections in the Klöntal have always enchanted poets and artists. Carl Spitteler, winner of the Nobel prize for literature, described the Klöntalersee as: an unbelievable natural beauty, unimaginable even in dreams.
The meadow area where the Klön flows into the lake is of national importance, and the shell limestone rocks also have protected status. The Silberen karst landscape is one of the most impressive in Switzerland. It is close to the Pragel Pass road. Enjoy the natural beauty on this two-hour walk along the lakeside. The trail is easy to walk with some narrow sections.
