Experience the Rhine – Europe’s most beautiful river landscapes. The unspoilt countryside and idyllic Untersee (western part of Lake Constance) are true wonders of nature.
Operations notice about scheduled boat trips: Untersee and Rhine boat trips
Charming villages, medieval monasteries, castles and palaces tell of the cultural and historical development of the region.
From Frauenfeld, take the Postbus to the Untersee and Rhine: It’s your choice whether to make the journey of around 30 minutes to Steckborn, Stein am Rhein or Diessenhofen. The journey takes you past fruit trees and half-timbered houses. Just before Steckborn, you have a magnificent view of the whole lower lake.
The following boat trip is a real pleasure.
At the point where the Untersee flows back into the Rhine lies the small historical town of Stein am Rhein. A visit to this charming little town is worth your while: an old town with historic half-timbered houses, beautifully painted facades and sleepy little lanes.
A little further downriver lies Diessenhofen with its medieval townscape. Here, you can explore the old town with its sealed tower and town church, and the covered wooden bridge over the Rhine.
From Diessenhofen, you return by Postbus through the Seebachtal nature reserve to Frauenfeld. If you are in need of refreshment, have a swim in the Nussbaumer or Hüttwiler lakes with their idyllic bathing areas.
Buy your ticket from the SBB Shop or SBB Mobile app. You can also buy a ticket from the driver, at all ticket terminals, PostBus sales offices and at the counter of your nearest railway station.
