The Altes Bad Pfäfers is the oldest baroque spa building in Switzerland. It is situated in a rugged, romantic location in the imposing Tamina gorge and has a thermal spring. The Tamina gorge allows you to experience the immense power of water.
The Tamina gorge allows you to experience the immense power of water: once through the revolving gate, visitors enter a dark, damp gorge. The rocks come together and a tunnel shows the way through the interior of the rocks, past the small thermal spring (36.6°C) to the spring water grotto (4,000 litres/min.) The Tamina gorge is also accessible on foot from the Valens, Pfäfers and Ragol bus stops. The hiking trail leads you over a natural bridge high above the Tamina and down to the Altes Bad Pfäfers, Switzerland’s oldest baroque spa building which is situated in a rugged, romantic location. This was constructed between 1704 and 1718, and underwent renovations between 1983 and 1995.
