Tarasp Castle

Landmark of the Lower Engadine Valley

Tarasp Castle dominates the region and offers an invitation to delve into the past. Everybody is welcome, from knights in shining armour to PostBus guests.

Tarasp Castle is a striking landmark in the Lower Engadine valley with a history going back almost 1000 years. There are few castles in Switzerland that are easier to recognize. Built atop a 100 m high hill, the fortress watches over the hamlets nestled below and its white walls are reflected in the water of Lake Tarasp. If you wish to take a look behind these walls, you will have to sign up for a guided tour. A visit to the knights’ hall, the banquet halls, old sleeping quarters and guest accommodations, the chapel (a treasure of art history) and many other parts of the castle is sure to be an exciting experience for the entire family!
