Tobogganing fun at Schwarzwaldalp (Canton Berne)

Meiringen–Schwarzwaldalp/Grosse Scheidegg

After tobogganing, before the fondue

The Chalet Schwarzwaldalp hotel is situated at 1,454 m on the way from Meiringen to Grosse Scheidegg, nestled between lush Alpine meadows and dense forests. In an almost dramatic contrast, the surrounding rough rocky faces of the Bernese Oberland Alps with their glaciers frame this (almost) untouched piece of nature. Thanks to certain snow conditions, the Schwarzwaldalp is a paradise for ski touring fans, snowshoe hikers and tobogganers. The 5.5 km-long fast-paced toboggan run from Grosse Scheidegg to Schwarzwaldalp is legendary. And you can travel up to the top by postbus.
