The nature and reflections of the Klöntal have attracted poets and artists since time immemorial. Carl Spitteler, winner of the Nobel prize for literature, described Lake Klöntal as an unbelievable natural beauty, unimaginable even in dreams.

Klöntal
The Klöntal, a valley encircled by Alpine peaks, gullies and soaring rock faces, is rich in natural beauty and famous for magnificent reflections.
The wetland area at the mouth of the Klön river in the lake is of national importance. Like the shell limestones, it is protected. Silberen is home to one of Switzerland’s most beautiful karst landscapes and is located near the Pragel Pass. You can enjoy these areas of natural beauty on a two-hour walk along the lake. The trail is easy to walk along with sections that are sometimes narrow.
Timetable
The PostBus route operates:
- Every hour at weekends from the beginning of May to mid-October.
- From the beginning of June to mid-August, every Sunday every half hour to Vorauen.
- Daily from the beginning of July to the beginning of August (summer holidays every hour).
It is not necessary to book a seat.
