Between larch and stone pine forests, the trail winds its way from Alp Camp across open alpine meadows up to the magnificent lakes. Like a dark purple eye, Lago di Viola nestles in the gentle hollow at the foot of the Scima da Saoseo mountain, the furrowed ridge of which forms a fascinating contrast to the velvety pastures. The trail continues to Lago di Saoseo with its intensely glowing cobalt blue, almost giving the impression of an optical illusion. Now hike in the direction of Rifugio Saoseo, from where the Postbus will take you back.

By the way, the car-free valley can only be reached by Postbus, for which reservations are required.
