Six beautiful sledging trails in the Bernese Oberland

Whether it’s Saxeten, Isenfluh in the Lauterbrunnen Valley, Ramslauenen in the Kiental, Wiriehorn in the Diemtigtal, Beatenberg near the Niederhorn or Schwarzwaldalp in the Haslital – all six sledging trails offer exciting downhill runs and beautiful views.

The six sledging trails have one thing in common: lots of fun for young and old, downhill runs from a leisurely to a fast pace, and fantastic views.

Sulwald-Isenfluh-Lauterbrunnen sledging trail

PostBus route 142Target not accessible takes you from Lauterbrunnen to Isenfluh. From here, take the cable car to Sulwald. The sledging trailTarget not accessible takes you in a leisurely pace over the forest road (4 km) towards Isenfluh. If conditions are good, you can even travel down the old Isenfluh road (3.5 km) to the valley.

Ramslauenen sledging trail in the Kiental

PostBus route 220Target not accessible takes you from Reichenbach im Kandertal to Kiental, Ramslauenen. Take the chairlift up to the starting point of the toboggan runTarget not accessible.

The 20-minute downhill run (5.3 km) is ideally suited for leisurely sledging and ambitious sports tobogganing.

Niederhorn-Vorsass (Beatenberg) sledging trail

PostBus route 101Target not accessible takes you from Interlaken West to Beatenberg, Station. The Niederhorn cable car takes you to the summit of the Niederhorn and the start of the sledging trailTarget not accessible (3 km).

The 30-minute descent to the Vorsass halfway station is lots of fun for beginners and the more experienced. From the halfway station, the trail again leads up towards Niederhorn.

Tip: sledging by starlightTarget not accessible takes place every Friday and Saturday evening.

Saxeten sledging trail

PostBus route 105Target not accessible takes you from Interlaken West to Wilderswil, Bahnhof. The journey continues on PostBus route 111Target not accessible to Restaurant Skipintli. After a hike of approx. one hour up to Alp Nessleren, you reach the start of the winding Saxeten toboggan runTarget not accessible (4 km).

Wiriehorn sledging trail in Diemtigtal

PostBus route 250 takes you from Oey-Diemtigen to Riedli, cable car valley station. Once at the top, the Wiriehorn sledging trailTarget not accessible (5 km) starts at the Nüegg mountain station and leads through the fir woods towards the valley.

Sledging on Schwarzwaldalp

The Postbus takes you from Meiringen via Schwarzwaldalp to Grosse Scheidegg. The legendary toboggan run (5.5 km) from Grosse Scheidegg to Schwarzwaldalp.
