Take a seat in the Postbus and enjoy the passing scenery. The idyllic journey leads past typical limestone rocks, flower-filled hay meadows and pastures with abundant species. If you like a place, get off the bus and linger a bit. The next Postbus will pick you up an hour later.

Neu-Falkenstein ruins

The first highlight is the Neu-Falkenstein ruins. The well-preserved ruins are perched on a rocky ridge north of St. Wolfgang along the gorge heading to Mümliswil. There is a splendid view from the main round tower.

Museum HAARUNDKAMM Mümliswil (Hair and comb museum)

The HAARUNDKAMM museum is a top-quality gem of cultural history. The old comb factory brings to life the history of the comb-making tradition. The artistically crafted decorative combs are testimony to the impressive skills of the former comb makers.

Historic Ramiswil mill

As you continue, you will see the Ramiswil mill on the left. The historic mill was built in the 16th century. Its Renaissance façade is a real feast for the eyes. You can book a visit anytime. The guided tour shows you the old mill equipment.

Enjoy the panorama and view of the Alps

The pass road then winds its way up to the Alpenblick stop. You can’t afford to miss this sight! Get off the bus and take in the views over the Alpine panorama and the rolling landscape of the Thal Nature Park. The Alpenblick restaurant’s sun terrace is a good place to linger until the next Postbus departs.

This is also the ideal starting point for a hike to the Vogelberg or the waterfalls.

Schwarzbubenland, the pearl of Northwestern Switzerland

The route continues through the tunnel to the north side of the Passwang Pass. The pass is situated at 943 metres above sea level. Schwarzbubenland, the pearl of Northwestern Switzerland, unfolds before you. The view over the romantic hills and lush pastures is exceptional. Beinwil Abbey now appears clearly in view on a hilltop. As early as the Middle Ages, the monastery was an important stop on the Basel–Beinwil–Solothurn–Bern pilgrimage route (Camino de Santiago route in Basel). The former Benedictine monastery now houses two Orthodox monastic communities, one for women and one for men. Take a break in this tranquil place and enjoy the silence. You can also stay overnight in the Spiesshaus, built in 1594.

Neu-Thierstein Castle

The last attraction on the way to Zwingen is Neu-Thierstein Castle. This landmark of the Lüssel Valley and Schwarzbubenland emerges on a rock above the municipality of Büsserach.

After just under an hour of travel, your journey ends in Zwingen, where you have good connections to Basel or Delémont.
