Views from Lake Zurich to Lake Sihl
Beautiful views between Lake Sihl and Lake Zurich from Willerzell to Stöcklichrüz – Lachen.
After just a short climb you have a beautiful view of the Sihlsee, the surrounding villages, the monastery at Einsiedeln, and towards Zurich. On the mountain ridge you can see the Wägitaler and Glarner Alps. You then continue across Alpine meadows along the edge of the woods. An hour later, you reach Alp Summerig and after another 15 minutes, Alp Grueb. From here it is just a stone's throw to Stöcklichrüz. The climb is rewarded with a magnificent view. You have the Zurich area and the whole of eastern Switzerland at your feet, and a view of the wonderful Alpine panorama to the east and south. Everything is explained on the panorama board. The trail is also suitable for families with children but not for pushchairs. The descent to Lachen is clearly marked on the Alpine panorama trail.

- Willerzell–Stöcklichrüz: 1.75 hrs, 4.5 km, ascent 350 metres in altitude.
- Stöcklichrüz–Lachen SZ: 1.5 hrs, 6.2 km, descent 800 metres in altitude.
- Alternative: Grueb–Alpwirtschaft–Gueterenegg–Stöcklichrüz (approx. ½ hr).
- PostBus route 552 or 553 from Einsiedeln to Willerzell Bodenmattli. Return from Lachen railway station on PostBus route 524/525 or take the S2 train.

Besides the splendid Einsiedeln cloister church, another attraction of great artistic and cultural significance is the almost 10meter-high and 100-meter-long work of art portraying the crucifixion of Christ. On regarding the enormous painting one almost feels catapulted into the Holy Land.
