PostBus, Navya and BestMile have presented two autonomous shuttles to the media in Sion. If the authorities issue the special permits required, the vehicles are expected to be in action and transporting passengers in Sion from spring 2016.
This year’s “FLUX – Golden Transport Hub” prize goes to the municipality of Wallisellen in the Zurich conurbation. The award recognizes the efforts of the municipality and its partners in designing an outstanding public transport hub which particularly benefits commuters.
Acting on behalf of Swiss Post, PostBus Switzerland Ltd plans to work together with other partners such as the city of Sion, the canton of Valais and the ETH Lausanne to test two autonomous vehicles in Sion over two years.
PostBus France has won a new public tender contract in Sète, in the Languedoc-Roussillon region. This latest success reflects the company’s substantial growth in the French transport market, with its employees now numbering over 1,000.
Last year, PostBus Switzerland Ltd travelled a further 2.5 million kilometres, transporting almost 2 million more passengers in the process. The largest bus company operating in the Swiss public transport sector is also increasingly establishing itself as a mobility service provider – for passengers and for other transport companies.
