100 years Surbtal route

If it were not for the First World War, there would be no Postbuses in Surbtal today. The plan had originally been to build a railway line from Niederweningen to Döttingen, but because SBB ran out of money for the project, an automobile service was set up instead. What began as a temporary solution ended up as a permanent fixture. 

Start of public testing of autonomous shuttles

Residents and visitors can now get around Sion with the PostBus self-driving shuttles. The authorities have granted approval for the pilot project in a specified area of the city. Self-driving buses carrying passengers on the roads in public areas are a first in Switzerland. 

Federal Government grants final approval of the special Brunau motorway exit

Public service buses and postbuses are benefitting from a special motorway exit for public transportation near Zurich-Brunau. Following a two-year trial phase, the Federal Government has decided to give the go-ahead for an indefinite period.

First test-runs of autonomous shuttles in Switzerland

Acting on behalf of Swiss Post, PostBus Switzerland Ltd plans to work together with other partners such as the city of Sion, the canton of Valais and the ETH Lausanne to test two autonomous vehicles in Sion over two years.
