The PubliCar App is a mobile application (Android and iOS) that allows users to order PubliCar transport services. The operator of the PubliCar App is PostBus Ltd.

Download the PubliCar App from the Google Play StoreTarget not accessible (Android) or App StoreTarget not accessible (iOS).

You will be asked to enter your mobile phone number for registration. You will then receive a code by SMS to enter in the PubliCar App for confirmation.

You can also add your e-mail address so that you receive a receipt for your payment transactions and can order the newsletter if desired. The e-mail address also needs to be verified. You will receive a confirmation link by e-mail for this.

The registration requires you to accept the conditions of use and the privacy policy.

PubliCar journeys can be booked with the PubliCar App. Alternatively, telephone booking is possible in certain areas. Please note the information on this for the relevant PubliCar area.

When booking, you need to provide the pick-up and drop-off location and your chosen departure or arrival time. In certain areas, you may also need to provide the number of luggage items. Ideally, you will also provide a telephone number on which we can contact you in the event of delays, for example.

A time slot for arrival will be provided to you when booking. If you select arrival time (e.g. for rail connections or doctors’ appointments), you will be at your drop-off location by the chosen time at the latest. If you choose departure time, you will be at the drop-off location within the time slot.

The area offering this service is highlighted in colour in the PubliCar App.

You can easily book the return journey by choosing the relevant booking in your account under “Booked rides”, tapping on the three dots to the right and selecting “Return journey”.

If you often travel on the same route, you can easily book the journey by choosing the relevant booking in your account under “Booked rides”, tapping on the three dots to the right and selecting “Book again”.

You must specify the total number of passengers, including children, when booking. The number of passengers can be changed in the app at any time after you have made the order, depending on the vehicle’s capacity.

The maximum number of people permitted in the booking depends on the area. Please check the details under the appropriate area.

Before you confirm your booking, please check that these details are correct: pick-up and drop-off location, time, number of passengers and luggage (luggage details depend on area).

Please note that the pick-up point for PubliCar is normally the address provided by you. In some cases, it may be a joint collection point to allow the rapid pick-up of several individuals.

If you do not take a journey that you have booked (“no show”), PubliCar reserves the right to charge a fee.

It is possible to book at short notice. Exceptions can be seen in the area information. In order to ensure availability, however, we recommend that you book early. A booking may be made up to 30 days in advance.

6. Select day and time, continue with "Confirm”
7. Origin and destination are already filled in, click on "Continue”

3. In the "When do you want to ride?" menu, select the "Series of rides" button.
4. Select “Choose dates”
5. Select the days on which you would like to book this ride
6. Click on «Confirm»
7. Select the departure or arrival time
8. Click on «Confirm»
9. Search for and select the desired point of origin in the search - Click on "Next”
10. Search for and select the desired destination in the search – Click on "Next”
11. A suitable ride will be searched for
12. Click on “Book”
13. The series of rides is processed
14. Your series has been booked Click on "Close”
15. Complete the action by clicking "Done”

You can pay via the driver using cash or TWINT. In certain PubliCar areas, sales via drivers are limited. Details can be found in the information for the relevant PubliCar area.

You can use the usual credit and debit cards to make purchases in the app. The options are displayed in the app.

Tickets and surcharges for single journeys are charged at the end of the journey, while multiple-trip tickets and travelcards are charged at the time of purchase to the credit or debit card on file.

The remaining credit on your PubliCar surcharge multiple-trip ticket will be shown in your user account.

Yes. Ticket inspections are carried out, as they are on other forms of public transport.

Acceptance of travelcards varies depending on the area. More details about fares can be found in the information for the relevant PubliCar area.

If you need a public transport ticket for PubliCar, you can use the usual sales channels for public transport tickets. Exceptions can be seen in the area information. You can purchase flat-rate tickets and/or pay for surcharges via the app.

Please cancel any PubliCar journey that you don’t take. You can cancel a confirmed journey free of charge up to one hour before the collection time. Cancellations can be made via the app at any time (24/7), while telephone bookings may be cancelled only during published opening hours. PostBus reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee for cancellations made at short notice.

To cancel your booking, click on “Booked journeys”, select the journey in question, click on “Details” and click on “Cancel journey”.

You need to cancel the journey ordered and make a new booking with the new details.

The PubliCar app shows the pick-up and arrival times. When booking, a time slot will be shown for the arrival time. This allows journeys with similar destinations to be combined. Small detours are possible as a result.

For pre-bookings, you will be notified of the expected arrival time of the PubliCar 30 minutes before the earliest possible pick-up time at the agreed collection point. You can track where your vehicle is located using the map in the app.

The pick-up time can also always be found under the tab “Booked rides”.

If the PubliCar vehicle is exceptionally running late, you will receive a push notification on your smartphone, provided that the push notifications have been activated in the settings. If you booked your journey by telephone, the driver may contact you in the event of unforeseen situations.

The pick-up point is shown in your order and in the travel details.

Depending on the particular PubliCar area, you will be collected from your front door, another agreed boarding location or from a stop.

The booking code provided in the app serves as your confirmation and must be given to the driver when you board. When ordering a PubliCar for another person, this person also needs to be able to give the driver the booking code.

The vehicle cannot wait for an individual user beyond the agreed pick-up time.

If you have saved your phone number in the app or have provided it when making a booking by phone, the driver can contact you if clarification is needed.

You will be notified of the expected pick-up time shortly before the journey. The time may differ by a few minutes due to the current traffic situation. In unforeseen situations, the driver will contact you.

If you are travelling to an appointment or are changing to another means of transport, please select the arrival time when booking.

Dogs may be carried in the PubliCar and a half-fare public transport ticket must be purchased for them. Exceptions can be seen in the area information.

Exception: you may carry small dogs of up to 30 cm in height at the withers in transport boxes, baskets or other container suitable for carrying animals free of charge – as you would with hand luggage. If a seat is taken, a half-fare ticket must be purchased. The surcharge will not be applied.

The driver may refuse to carry dogs which can be expected to cause disruption or which will be dangerous to other passengers or the driver.

Luggage is carried in the passenger area; space is limited.

PubliCar vehicles are suitable for people with limited mobility and wheelchair transport. Exceptions can be seen in the area information.

If you have a wheelchair, this must be indicated when booking.
