By public transport to Ticino

PostBus route 310 has connected the cantons of Nidwalden and Uri between Stans and Altdorf for over 40 years. A fantastic travel alternative for trips in Nidwalden, Uri and to Ticino.

After the Seelisberg tunnel was opened in 1981, PostBus started a trial operation of a PostBus route. Today, it is an established PostBus connection that carries around 35,000 passengers per year.

With the opening of the Gotthard Base Tunnel in 2016, the PostBus timetable was adapted and expanded to accommodate the new fast train connections. This resulted in a steady increase in passenger numbers over the years that followed.

Since December 2021, the Postbus has served the public transport hub at Altdorf, West station, with up to eight connections each day. This route doesn’t just connect two cantons: it’s ideal for commuters working in the cantons of Uri or Nidwalden but it also enables you to get from Stans station to Bellinzona in just 1 hour 20 minutes – with just one change to the train in Altdorf.
