The Walen Trail is one of the most beautiful high-altitude hikes in Switzerland. This unique day tour is quite varied and leads high above the Engelberg Valley from the Brunni to the Bannalp area or in the opposite direction.
A Walen Trail round-trip ticket is available, and is valid on the Zentralbahn, Postbus, Bannalp cable car and Engelberg-Ristis cable car routes.

Hike
At the beginning and end of this panoramic hike, use the cable cars to Bannalp and from Ristis down to Engelberg. The friendly mountain restaurant on the Alp OberfeldTarget not accessible serves its own products, such as goat’s cheese, meat and yoghurts.
Towards the end of the tour, tired hikers can refresh themselves at the BrunnihütteTarget not accessible. On the “tickle pathTarget not accessible” Kneipp trail around Lake Härzli next to the Brunnihütte SAC, you can treat yourself to a well-earned refreshment. Once you have recovered a bit and regained your strength, the final descent to Ristis begins (chairlift is an alternative). The cable car takes you to Engelberg.
