From Andermatt, the spectacular Furka–Grimsel–Susten Pass Route leads over three mountain passes and three cantons on pass roads that open up views of breathtakingly beautiful mountain landscapes, quaint villages, deep valleys and more.
The Furka–Grimsel–Susten Pass route starts at the Andermatt railway station and takes you on a one-day journey across three spectacular mountain passes. At the top of the Grimsel Pass you have enough time to enjoy the fantastic Alpine panorama with leisure (PostBus stop Grimsel Pass).
The views of the Gotthard mountain range and the Urseren Valley from the top of the Furka Pass are breathtaking. From there the road continues past the Rhone Glacier and into the Valais region. The entrance to the glacier grotto, rebuilt every year and leading deep into the Rhone Glacier, is at the Belvedere Furka stop. The Grimsel Pass road leads past many sparkling reservoir lakes and more marvelous views to enjoy (PostBus stop Grimsel Pass).
Be sure to make time for a light lunch during the stop in Meiringen (PostBus stop Meiringen Railway Station). On the way to the Susten Pass, the postbus crosses no less than 25 bridges and passes through 25 tunnels. Another highlight along the route is the famous Stone Glacier (PostBus stop Steingletscher, Susten).
