The Tibetan bridge of Carasc, the only one of its kind in Ticino, connects the hilly region from Sementina to Monte Carasso. It is 270 metres long, suspended over a stream and reaches a maximum height of 130 metres. An excursion which guarantees unique emotions.
Since 2016, Sementina and Monte Carasso have been connected by a breathtaking Tibetan bridge. It can be reached from both Monte Carasso and Sementina. In this way, the circular hike allows you to make the most of public transport.
Get off at the "Monte Carasso, Cunvent" stop and take the path that passes in front of the church of San Bernardo, where you should stop if only to discover the interior frescoes dating from the 14th and 15th centuries. A little later, still following an easy path, you will reach Curzùtt, an ancient testimony of the life of yesteryear, from where you get to the Tibetan bridge in about an hour and a half. If you suffer from vertigo, remember to take a deep breath, but don't worry: the bridge is safe to cross thanks to the larch floor, the protective wire mesh and the comfortable handrail. From the top you have a magnificent view of the Magadino plateau and Bellinzona. You then descend towards Sementina, passing, among other things, the Forts of Hunger, military defensive buildings, and the San Defendente plateau. From there, you continue to the PostBus stop "Sementina, Via Locarno".
Buy your ticket from the SBB Shop or SBB Mobile app. You can also buy a ticket from the driver, at all ticket terminals, PostBus sales offices and at the counter of your nearest railway station.
