Uetliberg

From Schlieren to Zurich’s local mountain

Such a breathtaking view over the city and mountains – and just a stone’s throw away from Schlieren. The Postbus takes you to Uitikon Waldegg in 20 minutes. You can reach the final stop, Uetliberg, using the Sihltal Zurich Uetliberg railway.

The Uetliberg is like a world of its own and offers a range of highlights throughout the year. Leave your everyday life behind and enjoy the panoramic view over Lake Zurich and into the distance. Sunday brunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Hotel Uto Kulm comes highly recommended. Other ideas for your trip to Zurich’s very own mountain:

  • In spring, hike along the panoramic trail to Felsenegg, or take an after-work bike ride down one of two bike trails.
  • In summer, escape the oppressive city heat and climb up to the lookout tower or cool off with an ice cream at Hotel Uto Kulm.
  • In autumn, take a walk through the mystical forest or go with your whole family along one of many hiking trails and enjoy the view.
  • In winter, race down Zurich’s exciting sledging run or take an excursion to the Uitikon indoor swimming pool
