In the Tamina Gorge, you can experience the immense power of water: after the gate, you’ll move into a dark, humid gorge. The rocks draw ever nearer. A tunnel will lead you through the interior of the rock, past the small, hot thermal spring to the spring water grotto, through which 4,000 litres of water flow per minute.

The Tamina Gorge is also accessible on foot from the Valens, Pfäfers and Ragol stops. The hiking trail takes you over a natural bridge high above the Tamina and down to the Old Bad Pfäfers Baths, Switzerland’s oldest baroque spa building, located in a wild, romantic setting. The spa was built between 1704–1718 and restored between 1983–1995.

A special fare applies to the gorge bus on route 453. A standard route ticket, the GA Travelcard and the Half Fare Travelcard are not valid on route 453.
