To begin this unforgettable excursion, you should alight from the Postbus at the stop “Bogno, Cappella di Bogno”, at the top of the Val Colla.
After an initial climb, you will pass a Highland cattle farm at Alpe Cottino. The walk continues to the Capanno San Lucio mountain hut on the slopes of Monte Gazzirola, near the Oratorio San Lucio. From there, you can enjoy a magnificent view of the Colla and Cavargna valleys.
The path then leads you across the Alpe Pietrarossa to the Capanna Monte Bar mountain hut, where you will be treated to a beautiful panorama of Lugano’s lakeshore. The walk ends with a descent towards Corticiasca, where you can begin your journey home by Postbus from the stop “Corticiasca, Paese”.
On this route, you will also enjoy the three-tone horn, which celebrates its 100th anniversary this year.

For those who would prefer a shorter hike, you can start and finish your walk to Monte Bar in Corticiasca (duration: 2 hours; length: 4 kilometres).
