The green heart of Ticino
Discover the picturesque villages, the emerald green river and the breathtaking views of this truly unique valley.
From Locarno on Lake Maggiore, the postbus will take you into the beautiful Verzasca valley. It is impenetrable and inviting at the same time and offers everything you could wish for: nature, sun, peace, traditions and culture.
In Gordola at the entrance to the Verzasca valley, lovers of strong emotions can visit the rope park and have fun swinging from tree to tree (bus stop "Gordola, Posta"). The narrow Verzasca valley with its fairytale green river and charming villages with frescoed housefronts enchants each and every visitor with its beauty. From the bottom of the valley, where a Mediterranean ambiance prevails, and all the way up to the Alpine peaks, there are many options for excursions and hiking. Visit the dam of Lake Vogorno at the entrance of the valley (bus stop "Diga Verzasca"). Like James Bond in the film Goldeneye, you can jump from the dam into the depths on a bungee rope. Corippo, situated on the mountainside, is a small village of great architectural value (bus stop "Corippo, Bivio"). The Ponte dei Salti bridge with its double arch at Lavertezzo (bus stop "Lavertezzo, Paese") is a great backdrop for fabulous pictures. In Sonogno, the furthest village of the valley, you will find the Verzasca valley museum (bus stop "Sonogno"). It is located in a house typical of the area and illustrates its history and traditions. A walk through the village and its surroundings is a relaxing and enriching experience.
