PubliCar Appenzell provides a “door-to-door” service in the area of Appenzell Innerrhoden highlighted on the map. PubliCar also travels on the most direct route from the area served to Teufen AR (Bahnhof) and to Stein AR, and to Gais via Bahnhof as far as Klinik Gais.

Journeys must be reserved. Short-notice bookings are also possible. We recommend booking early for fixed times (doctor’s appointments or rail connections) or during periods of high demand.

Wheelchair transport

You can activate the “wheelchair” option in the PubliCar App in the “number of passengers” booking step. Alternatively, you can also register for this option by calling 0848 55 30 60.

Bicycle transport

Bikes cannot be transported on PubliCar.

Groups

Bookings can be made for a maximum of nine people via the app. Groups of 10 people or more receive a 30% discount on their public transport ticket. Please book your group journey at least two working days before the journey by calling 0848 818 818.

Buy a zone ticket from the Ostwind fare networkTarget not accessible for your PubliCar journey (e.g. a single ticket, a multiple-trip ticket or a 1-day travelpass). The GA Travelcard and Half Fare Travelcard, the Lake Constance ticketTarget not accessible and the current guest cards (e.g. Appenzell Holiday CardTarget not accessible, the Eastern Switzerland TravelcardTarget not accessible (OSKAR)) are all recognized.

The usual public transport fare regulations apply to dogs.

You can buy tickets for the journey via the SBB Mobile appTarget not accessible, in the SBB ShopTarget not accessible, from the driver, at ticket terminals or at your nearest staffed sales outlet (e.g. Appenzell StationTarget not accessible or Mercato GaisTarget not accessible).

* The surcharge is payable via the PubliCar App, in the vehicle via TWINT, or to the driver. The PubliCar App accepts credit cards, Apple and Samsung Pay, and new debit cards (e.g. Debit Mastercard, Visa Debit Card or the new PostFinance Card combined with Debit Mastercard). You can set up a payment method in just a few clicks on the PubliCar App.
