Entitlement
As of 1 October 2024, unmarried cohabiting couples will be treated the same as the listed cohabiting couples
- married couples
- couples living together in a registered partnership
- unmarried couples (with or without children)
People in other forms of cohabitation such as shared accommodation or sub-letting are still not entitled to the staff travel discount. Authorization must be confirmed once with a “self-declaration”. In addition, a residence certificate must be submitted annually.
No. The entitlement for family members applies if you have an employment level of 40% or above.
No. We do not offer dog or bike passes in our range.
The entitlement for young people (16–25 years of age) applies only as long as they are in education and childcare/education allowances are paid for them.
Young people who are no longer in education or training, have not yet reached the age of 25 and still live in the same household are entitled to a GA Travelcard Plus for Youth, which can be purchased commercially (via SBB). They will need a confirmation of residence for this. Your staff travel discount GA will still count as the basic GA Travelcard.
No. When you leave PostBus, the staff travel discount entitlements for you as an employee and for your family members expire. All blue staff travel discount travelcards must be returned once your employment relationship has ended. Travelcards on the SwissPass are automatically set to inactive on the date of departure.
FIP card
No. The FIP card is an international discount card; staff from various railway administrations in Europe are entitled to it, but not PostBus employees.

Discounted day passes can be purchased by entitled persons with a staff travel discount Half Fare Travelcard.
The staff travel discount 1-day/multi-day passes can be purchased at one of our staffed PostBus salespoints or at any staffed public transport salespoint.

Renewals
SwissPass
From 2026, the staff travel discount travelcard will be converted to SwissPass. The previous blue staff travel discount card will no longer be issued. In future, your new staff travel discount travelcard will be stored on the SwissPass.
To do this, you will need:
- A personal SwissPass (SwissPass Mobile and/or physical SwissPass card)
- One SwissPass login
What do you need to do?
- If you do not already have one, order a SwissPass and create a SwissPass login
- Link your staff travel discount travelcards and those of your family to the SwissPass once. → Children without their own e-mail address can obtain their SwissPass at a public transport point of sale

Important information:
- Link your staff travel discount travelcard to your SwissPass in good time to ensure a smooth transition.
- Existing or new blue staff travel discount cards remain valid until the printed expiry date and are not transferred to the SwissPass. From January 2026, all newly issued staff travel discount travelcards will be on the SwissPass.
